Cross-border Cooperation
Programme Montenegro – Albania 2014-2020
The overall objective of the Programme is to
promote and strengthen good neighbourly relations and socioeconomic development
of the border regions, through valorizing their touristic potentials and
environmentally sustainable development.
The Programme area is diverse but some features
such as nature, geographic position, economy, human capital, give a good
opportunity for implementing the objectives of the cross-border Programme.
The Programme covers a territory of 11,970 km2 of
which 52,1 % refers to the area in Montenegro which includes 12 municipalities
spread in three geographic regions, while the Albanian part is composed by
three administrative units.
For funding of this cross-border cooperation
Programme for the period 2014-2020, the European Union allocated 11,900,000€.
The first call for proposals was published on 15
July 2016 and signature of the contracts with selected beneficiaries is
expected until the end of 2017.

Programme Montenegro – Kosovo 2014-2020
The main objective of the Programme is improving
the standard and quality of living of the people in the Programme area, through
the environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive economic development of
the region, with respect for its cultural and natural heritage.
The priorities of this Programme are focused on
improving the employment, social and cultural inclusion across the border,
improving the access to the labour market, encouraging socially vulnerable
groups to participate in society, protecting the environment, improving the
tourism and cultural and natural heritage.
The Programme areas in which the objectives of the
Programme will be implemented are the municipalities in Montenegro and Kosovo.
For funding of this cross-border cooperation
Programme, the European Union allocated 8,400,000€.
The first call for proposals was published on 10
March 2017 and the evaluation process is ongoing.
